Mike and Chester interview with MTV 25 June 09
Saturday, June 27, 2009
Mike and Chester had an interview with MTV about New Divide, Dead By Sunrise and their upcoming semi-conceptual album.
What they have to say about Chester's solo project:
And that "different" music starts with Bennington'sSunrise, a long-in-the-works project that the singer says will finally see the light of day in September. And in keeping with what Shinoda was saying, Bennington is warning Linkin Park fans to prepare to be shocked by what they'll hear. Oh, and to fire up their black lights too.
"There's a stylistic thing that's different. With Linkin Park, we have a signature sound — you know it when you hear us. [Dead by Sunrise] does not have that feel. It has a completely different feel. Trying to describe that difference is like trying to describe the difference between Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, you know?" he said. "They're both rock, but they're different styles. I'm confident in saying this next record is going to be the most challenging ... and complex and intriguing music that has come out of the Linkin Park camp. It's really dark. It's like post-apocalyptic 'Blade Runner' meets LSD."
"I have to say, I'm really proud of Chester — he has his own style. ... You know how they say you can turn on Pink Floyd and 'The Wizard of Oz' and they go together?" Shinoda added. "You'll want to put this record on with 'Blade Runner' and 'Tron.' "
"Or 'Blade Runner' and 'Tron' and 'A Clockwork Orange,' all at the same time," Bennington laughed.
Yet another time Mike has to voice out how much he's proud of his boy. Yes, we know Mike. We know ;)

Fanarts update
We have tons of adorable things this month. Mike got his butt kicked and Hello Kitty Chester? Awesomesauce. And then there's the comeback of dom!Chester with the name smooshing Shinington as well as the threesome with Mister Bourdon. Check them out now!
Last but not least, I don't know how I could be unaware of this but TYshangshan posted a screencaps board of her graduation movie/project one month ago and it's one of the most EPIC fanart/fancartoon I have ever seen. I was speechless after seeing this, even tho I don't exactly get the storeline (sue me, I'm old and slow already). I definitely want to see this movie! Fantastic!
A quick review of last week's events and what to come this month.
The premiere of 'Transformers II: The Revenge Of The Fallen' was summed up in Michael's words: a pretty fun night. The boys look amazing. Kudos to anyone who dressed them this year. Mike's Jason Mraz/Justin Timberlake look is uber funneh fashionable and Chester still hasn't parted with his man purse yet. Our couple decided to wear ties together and stood out among their friends (even tho in the end, Brad won. Look at his face! He stole all the spotlight after his lovely bush was gone - I still miss it tho)
New Divide was first performed this 22nd June. Catch a glimpse of that divide performance on JimmyKimmelLive Youtube channel
Chus rocked the white outfit and maybe it's my eyes, but during some fancam vids, it's like a GUNSHOW. Chester did get buffer, right? Robbie looked a little preggo but his shiny hair distracted me all the way. Mike was super excited during the electronic NIN-esque break. Seems like they were having fun singing live together again.
Less than a month and Linkin Park will be back on the road, pulling the best out of themselves performing for the fans. The next stop is Istanbul, Turkey! After all those concert moments we posted on the site today, are you ready to catch up with the new Bennoda tour circle yet? YOU'D BETTER BE READY BECAUSE WE'RE EXCITED!
Also, show your support to Dead By Sunrise, who's doing a lot of promoting jobs and will release their very much expected album this September.
June is the birthday month of Naz and Nicole, the awesome and amazing pieces of our A team. Happy belated birthday to you two. Keep on rocking and don't forget totally about our boiz!
On another note, I just read on CNN about Michael Jackson's decease. That was such a shocking news. Despite all the wrongs and rights he has done in the short time of his life, Michael Jackson is still an undeniable icon and legend in the world's music history. His death is a loss to many music fans out there. Rest in Peace, Michael.
"Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."
Another In The End performance featuring an adorkable Mike/Chus moment.
London, England, Astoria, 3 May 2007
Remember those superman undies LP showed you in their dressing room? Here they are again! Mike told Chester to strip and show off his SupahChustah underwear ["from the backside, Chester's Superman underwear!", LOL], so big thankies to Mike because if it's not for him, you cannot have a chance to see Chester's ass at their live concert. Hot stuff!

Manchester 27 Jan 08. Mike and Chester in the crowd
Manchester, England, MEN Arena, Winter European Tour, 27 Jan 2008
Mike got right in among the crowd and felt lonely, so he called up for Chester "Hey Chester, come down here, man." And Chester's response is....? Of course, he ran up to Mike like a good obedient boy that he is and joined in the fun. Don't you wish your concert is yummy like this? Bossy Mike and obedient boy Chus for life, bb!

My gratitude to the awesome MeMyselfandI (love that song by De La Soul, woot!) on the Mushroom Army MB for digging up some old In The End performances with deadly adorable Bennoda moments.
Paris, France, Bercy, Winter European Tour, 22 Jan 2008
Chester was getting into the crowd and singing his lungs out with them. When the song finished, Mike went all bossy and said "Get your ass back up here, buddy." Chester ran back up on stage and Mike along with another bodyguard extended their hands to help Chester get up. Chester went for Mike's hand (well, both hands indeed, but let's ignore the bodyguard dude, LOL) and tackle hugged him. The hug just lingered for some seconds, but the sweetness is still here!

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I'm back from the abyss hole of shitty fate and ready to entertain you all tonight. So what happened to our not really peaceful world last week?
The lastest LPTV is so Bennoda-ish it hurts (in a good way of course ;)) Mike and Chester hid under the balloons and surprised people? Tell me you don't have dirty thoughts. What did they do under there? What the camera could not show you? Let your imagination work on that :3 Mike playing New Divide on piano and Chester sitting there listening like a good boy? The cozy feeling in the studio, warm light, pretty colorful balloons, beautiful instrumental sound? Those two totally got me with their old cuuuuteness.

VH1 has an interview with Mike and Chester where they talked about their newest song 'New Divide' and spilled some 'Transformer II' secrets.
When Linkin Park's Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda met with "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" director (and fan of explosions) Michael Bay, they had no idea what to expect. And, it turns out, they got more than they could've ever imagined.
Not only did they get an extremely advanced look at the film, they ended up playing a role in its very creation. Which, you know, wasn't originally in the cards.
Yay, new layout! Sorry it took forever, blame the aliens they took me without notice and made me do things I don't approve of. I promise it won't take as long next time.
Four HQ pics from the Kerrang Award 2003 photoshoot. Photographer: Ross Halfin. A big thank-you to Ana/LPHQ/Phoenix-Farrell.org for those fantastic pictures.
Last but not least, madebyDun have a lot of new fanarts up in her Funny Fun Fiction gallery. Check it out! Adult content warning ;)
I also spotted a Sims 2 fanart staring our favorite boys. Remember when we have threads in the MB where people posted their Sims 2 Mikester stuff? Amazing!
