You can now listen to "The Catalyst" and the awesome remix by NoBraiN on Linkin Park's official MySpace
This album seems to be opening a potential era for Bennoda. The interview with Chester on BBC1 was full of Shinoda-fangirlism. Chester talked about how great the song is to him, with the heavy electronic influence, beautiful chant and again, very Linkin Park-esque - the universal-feelings-related lyrics. He described how Mike's vocal got really strong and on the song, you can hear that he might not sound like himself on some parts, and that's Mike. They blended their vocals, with the fade in and out effect, going back and forth between Mike and Chester.
While discussing the challenge of creating something unique under the pressure of their previous successful albums, Chester said he had to take his hats off for Mike Shinoda since Mike's the driving force (of the band) and creatively music wise. Chester claimed that Mike the most talented person he had ever met, and probably the most challenging songwriter in music (industry) right now.
That's very nice of you showering love on your musical partner, Chester. We appreciate this.
