After the first song, Bennington told the crowd at the Ford Center that he was sick and the band briefly considered postponing the show. But Bennington worked through it and he came through sounding like what his fans expected. Sometimes you could tell that the effort was killing his vocal cords and he’d have to stop and stick the microphone out to encourage the crowd to sing, who responded.
At one point, he told the crowd they could get their money back if they weren’t happy with the show. “No! Noooo!” the crowd screamed back, urging him on. “You’re so hard on yourself,” singer Mike Shinoda told him.
Bennington seemed to lean a little more on Shinoda and the crowd throughout the night, but overall the concert was a loud, exciting nu metal-lovefest...
